Design System Components/Modules

Tokenization, Engagement Surfaces & Loops (Sportsbook & TBD: Casino)

Problem

Designers and engineers needed reliable, scalable components to ship quickly without UI drift.

What I Did

  • Built updated components based on product needs and designer workflows

    • Scoreboard Module: Inclusive of multiple states for user engagement loop

    • Bet slip Module: Single component where users place bets and finalize parlays

    • Event Switcher Module: Interactive engagement loop for smooth jump between different tournaments

  • Collaborated with product + engineering to test structure, variants and states

  • Documented usage patterns to make components easy to adopt and hard to misuse

  • Defined and maintained design tokens and component-to-token mappings

  • TBD: Was set to lead the casino design system project - unfortunately was caught in the large tech layoffs and did not have the opportunity to move this past the exploratory phase

  • Participated in early working sessions to define HDI feedback-loop haptics- such as a win-triggered phone vibration- to create a more visceral reward moment and drive re-engagement

Result

Delivered a set of scalable, tokenized modules (Scoreboard, Bet Slip, Event Switcher) with clearly defined variants and states—improving UI consistency, reducing misuse, and accelerating design-to-dev handoff across high-frequency betting flows. I was selected to lead the casino design system initiative, but the program ended during company-wide layoffs before it progressed beyond the exploratory phase.

Dark/Light Mode Standardization

Design System Foundations for iGaming Scale

Problem

BetMGM’s UI had a hybrid theme with a mix of light and dark elements. This created inconsistent experiences and increased dev/design overhead.

What I Did

  • Audited where dark/light styling lived across the CSS architecture and identified “off-system” components

  • Partnered with engineering to migrate inconsistent components into the Design System dark mode theme, aligning styling to tokens and shared patterns

  • Validated updates through systematic review of impacted UI surfaces and edge states

Result

Improved visual consistency and accessibility across dark mode surfaces, while reducing future work by moving UI patterns into the system.

Figma Plugin

Design Operations Efficiency for Speed & Scale

Problem

Sports-related mockups were time-consuming to build manually and often required repetitive data entry

What I Built

  • A lightweight metadata plugin that let designers populate sports data into keyframes automatically

Result

Reduced repetitive work and shortened the time required to produce realistic, data-accurate sports mockups.

Collaboration & Design Integrity

Partners: PM, engineering, marketing/CRM, analytics, QA/UAT

How I Kept Alignment: Weekly reviews, Jira slicing, dependency tracking

Quality Bar: Accessibility checks, responsive behaviors, states/empty/error/loading, pixel + CSS QA
